FMSAMPLE.AVI
TRMOOV.EXE download zip file (approximately 99k)
TRMOOV is a Microsoft Windows 3.1/Windowos95 application for converting
back and forth between the QuickTime (for Windows) file format and the Video
for Windows (AVI) file format without recompression. Neither Video
for Windows nor QuickTime for Windows need to be installed for TRMOOV to perform
a conversion. Playback of the converted movie, however, does require
installation of the appropriate software (either VfW or QTW). Two other ways
in which TRMOOV can be used are:
- Conversion back and forth between QTW sound-only movies and Microsoft
.WAV files (specify the .WAV extension for the target file)
- Batch mode conversions. Since TRMOOV takes command line arguments, a Test
Basic-style script can be constructed using multiple RUN statements. For
example:
RUN "TRMOOV.EXE MOVIE1.MOV MOVIE1.AVI"
RUN "TRMOOV.EXE MOVIE2.MOV MOVIE2.AVI"
Before downloading this program, please read the following information carefully:
- TRMOOV is offered as is, without an expressed or implied warranty, or
a technical support obligation. It is designed to convert movie files that
have the same soure and target codec. For instance, if the source file is
a QuickTime Cinepak movie, the target movie will be a Video for Windows
Cinepak file. Other known restrictions are detailed below.
- The San Francisco Canyon Company is the sole and exclusive author and
copyright holder of TRMOOV. Any person who downloads the program automatically
receives a non-exclusive license to use this version of the program.
Under no circumstances may TRMOOV.EXE be re-distributed, either on a standalone
basis or as part of some other product, without written permission from San
Fancisco Canyon Company.
- Known Restrictions:
- Source and target codecs must be the same (for example, Cinepak or Indeo).
- When going from QTW to VFW, make sure your source movie's audio sampling
rate is MPC (11.025 khz, 22.05 khz, 44.1 khz, etc.). The current version
of TRMOOV preserves the source movie's sampling rate, and some Windows
sound cards do not handle Mac audio rates (such as 22.254) very well.
- If your source movie has a palette attached, it may not be present in
the target movie.
- Longer movies output by TRMOOV may lose their audio/video synch after
several minutes.
Despite these restrictions, the current version of TRMOOV has been used
in the production of many commercial products and is generally a reliable
utility.
